Ohio River Foundation launches Earth Month Challenge

CINCINNATI, OHIO (April 1, 2021) – The Ohio River Foundation is announcing its first Earth Month Challenge in honor of Earth Day in April. This virtual challenge, which runs from April 1-30, will encourage participants to live a “greener” lifestyle in whatever way appeals to them. That might mean reconnecting with nature, conserving water, planting a tree, shopping wisely, educating others, volunteering, choosing sustainable foods, picking up garbage, going on a hike, recycling — the list goes on!

Participants are invited to track their accomplishments and upload pictures to social media — specifically Facebook, Instagram or Twitter — with the hashtag #ORFEarthMonthChallenge. At the end of the month, all participants will be entered in a drawing for an “Earth Day-themed” gift basket.

“The goal of this challenge is to inspire environmental action and to serve as a reminder of the impact dedicated individuals and groups can make in helping our planet,” Sara Brandts, Ohio River Foundation’s social engagement coordinator. “At a time where most events have been cancelled or gone virtual, there are still so many things we can do to protect, give back to and advocate for our planet. The Ohio River Foundation encourages you to get creative this month and have fun while doing your part for the environment.”
