Ohio River Foundation Celebrates 25 Years With A Watershed Moment

More than 150 people turned out for Ohio River Foundation’s 25th Anniversary event. The evening–titled A Watershed Moment–was held at MadTree’s Parks & Rec at Summit Park in Blue Ash. The celebration featured a buffet during the cocktail hour, keynote by Rhiannon Hoeweler of MadTree Brewing, live freshwater mussels in tanks, live auction, and an awards ceremony.

Honored that evening were Mike Fremont with the River Advocate award, Mike Miller with the Conservation Educator Award, and MadTree Brewing with the Habitat Conservation Award. Attending teachers also won free River Explorer field trips and Mussels in the Classroom experiences for their students.

The event raised more than $25,000 for Ohio River Foundation’s projects and programs, including its new Rivers to Classrooms Education Access Fund, River Report Card, and 10,000 Trees project. These all support ORF’s work to protect and improve water quality in the region, and educate the next generation of environmental stewards.
