Programs & Initiatives

Ohio River Foundation has a holistic and comprehensive approach in pursuit of its mission goals. Involved on several fronts, staff and volunteers are engaged in conservation and education activities.

With Schools

Every year thousands of students learn about their local watersheds and aquatic ecology as they climb into rivers to study fish, macroinvertebrates, and water quality in our River Explorer Program. And they learn about, design and install rain gardens through the School Rain Garden Program.

Through Restoration

A cornerstone of Ohio River Foundation's efforts to protect and restore water quality in the Ohio River watershed is our Restoration Program. It provides us not only an opportunity to improve the phyisical environment but also allows hands-on work experince for volunteers and students. Events...Like Great Ohio River Paddle

Engaging the public in a broad spectrum of events, large and small, is a goal of ORF to reach as many people of different interest who all have the common interest of protecting and improving watershed water quality.
