Stearns Woods is an aging forest with an incredible history, but it needs help! Invasive species have taken over and left no room for new young native tree saplings to grow. Support the restoration of this community restoration site by helping to remove the invasive bush honeysuckle on Sunday Oct. 11 from 12:30pm – 2:30pm with the Urban Forestry and Beautification Commission Wyoming Ohio and the Ohio River Foundation. You’ll be provided with a brief training and the tools you’ll need. Bring a reusable water bottle, gloves, and a good attitude! Come dressed in long pants, sturdy closed-toed shoes or boots, and weather appropriate clothing, including sun and bug protection. We’ll see you there!
Location: Stearns Woods
Address: There is free street parking on Oliver Rd., and we will meet at the Glenway Ave. park entrance at 39.2309, -84.4774. The park does not have a numbered address, but it DOES show up on Google Maps by searching the name.
