Let’s go creekin’! We’re partnering with our friends at the Cincinnati Nature Center for this event. On this guided, in-the-stream hike at Long Branch Farm and Trails, Ohio River Foundation will introduce attendees to rare native mussels. Mussels are incredible and complex creatures that support the health of our local rivers and streams. On our stream hike, we will search for indicator species like mussels, aquatic bugs, crayfish, and fish as well as snakes, green herons, kingfishers, fossils, animal tracks, signs of beaver, and a variety of other water wonders. Thank you to Cincinnati Nature Center for inviting ORF to take part in this event! Registration required.
What to Expect: In this program, we will be walking over uneven ground, on slippery rocks, and will get wet. Most water is less than 24 inches deep, but there are spots that may be waist deep for adults.
